By exploiting an easy to learn AI weakness, you can score a sack on nearly every play in Madden 2004.

When on defense, pick the Free Fire blitz from within the 4-3 package. Move your two interior lineman away from the ball one click each, move the lineback on the left down, and move the middle linebacker a little bit to the right and a little down. When the offense snaps the ball, the left tackle will go to block the linebacker on the left, the left guard will block the defensive end on the left, and the center will block the middle linebacker. This will give the interior lineman on the left side a huge hole and have a free path to the quarterback, which is a tactic that the offensive AI will hardly ever account for and can easily lead to several hundred sacks throughout the course of a season.

For even better results, sub in one of the fastest players from your defensive backfield into the position of the lineman that will have a free path to the quarterback so that you can sack him that much faster.

To advertise for free, go to the weekly schedule and view the Monday Night Game. Select it, then go and set you advertising all the way up. Play your game then simulate the week. The Monday Night Game still will not have happened, so go turn down your advertising and voila! free advertising.

Set one of your audibles as a fake punt pass. Choose a play, then once you get onto the field audible to the fake punt. Play out the play (note: this was done without ever trying to pass, as you will get sacked; it is not known if you must get sacked for the glitch to work or if it will work if you complete a pass), then do a no huddle with Triangle. If the other team does not know it, they will blitz in and all your receivers will be wide open.

Save the game immediately at the start of the third quarter, then quit the game. Exit out of franchise mode. Then, reload the franchise and the game will bring you to the controller selection screen. Choose your team then play and finish the rest of the game. After that, your total income will be doubled from what it really was. To get more money, do this repeatedly then finish the game.

Play in owner mode and if you have the Super Bowl in the previous year, next year take all the tickets, concessions, and merchandise up as far as they can. You will get about $20 million a game.

This trick requires two players. When you are kicking off to the opposing team, have your teammate switch to the closest man to the right of the kicker. You should be able to see the player onscreen. When he is kicking it, get a head start by pressing Circle + Up. When he does, try to block your own kick by diving on the ball (when on the kicker stand). If you are successful, he will block it and the ball will roll on the ground. A flag will be thrown and the kicker should pick it up. The flag is for illegal kick procedure. Then, the other team will be kicking the ball to you. Doing an onside return formation is recommended as they are kicking it on the 25 yard line. They will either kick it into the endzone (down it if they do), out of the endzone, or they will be onsiding it. You now have the ball again on offense. This process can be repeated as many times as desired. Note: It is difficult to block.

After scoring a touchdown, go for a two point conversion and scramble with your quarterback. If you are successful, do a QB slide just before the screen to the kickoff appears. You will kick-off on your opponents' goal line.

Make the wide side of the field to your right. Send your right side receiver in motion to the left. If the defense is in man to man coverage and the corner is following you, quickly and repeatedly press back to the right side. Play maker right as he is running, then hike the ball. You will notice that he is open instantly, and you should bullet a pass to the reciever. Note: This works only if the defense is in man to man coverage.

Resign/trade for players until you have about $1 million remaining. Create-a-player, then alter his stats after signing him. Before you can leave the create-a-player screen, you will get a message. Ignore it and leave. You should have the cap off -- save first. It does not always work smoothly.
