Planting the seeds you collect on the way
Through different stages in about the first half of the game, you will find several pouches of seeds. The problem lies in where to plant them. Watch the item description and look for any hints such as "grows in shallow salt water" or "clings to rock and thrives near recently excavated stone". All of the places to plant the seeds are going to be in the first world map (i.e. prior to entering the Tree of Eleh map, which shoots you into a different reality and world map). The following are some places where various seeds can be planted. These plants are all used in making different elixirs once you get further into the ruins themselves. Sangaril can make them in the area where you got most of the seeds. Note: You will need to plant the seeds, then leave and complete an adventure before you can gather them up. Note You cannot plant seeds after entering Eleh.
Gramarye: Near wrecked ship at Eleh Caverns. Add Ahurr's Blue Dust.
Rathmoss: At Indubal Prison, go into the lower level and drop into an alcove in the left side of the wall (an unfinished prison cell). You will know that it is the correct one when a box appears and tells you that the earth here is cool and damp. Add Wardstone.
Scarabee: At Hopiris Ruins, before you get onto the boat that takes you into the ruins, go immediately to your right. When you hit an area that tells you there is a lot of sandstone and thick vines, you have your spot. Add Dung Beetle.
Sinew Grass: At Miridan's Pass, plant the seeds in the garden where the creature is located, next to the pond in the spot that shows up as a "cool shady place". Add Heart of Arxes.
Ubbena's Bolt: In shallow waters of Teomura near wrecked ship. Add Nuntara's Spear.
Sangaril's backstab
Whenever in solo mode with Sangaril, her backstab skill will usually kill enemies in one hit.
Souls
It is better to gather souls with Morbazon before entering Eleh caverns so you can make better gems early on.
