When an animal charges, dodge in the direction opposite of where they are attacking. Some creatures have tells that will give you a hint as to how to avoid their attack. For example, a bear raising its left paw will follow up by swiping down and towards its right.

Save your Boosts until absolutely necessary. Instead of spending gold to purchase Boosts, use it to buy weapons. After using the X-Ray boost, try to remember where the heart and lungs were located. If you encounter the same type of animal again, you will now know where to aim without another Boost.

Farm the easy low energy hunts at the beginning.

When you see a moving bush, tap it to flush any small creatures out. Note: Do not shoot at the bush.

Hit an animal's lung or heart to do the most damage. Head shots do not seem to be overly special.
