U for Wii U, Nintendo is letting Luigi take over in new downloadable content that is coming in the Year of Luigi that provides alternate versions of the game's more than 80 stages. Players can freely change between the New Super Luigi U and New Super Mario Bros. U stages. These Luigi-focused stages provide a whole new level of game-play challenge and will be available for purchase as a single download.

Beat the last Bowser
Find every normal and secret flag (there are 94 in all)
Catch Nabbit when he appears in each of the first seven worlds
Obtain every star coin in the standard 8 worlds
Obtain all star coins in every world and level, including level 9 in Superstar Road

Successfully complete the game. You can hit the red "M" block that now appears at the start of each level to make Luigi move like Mario in New Super Mario Bros U.
New Super Mario Bros U physics
Beat the final boss.
New Super Mario Bros U physics
After beating the last stage, a red block with the letter "M" on it appears at the beginning of every stage.Hitting it makes Luigi's movement physics the same as Mario's were in the New Super Mario Bros U. This does not affect Nabbit.Effect last until you exit the stage.No penalties occur when using the block.

Hold ZL when selecting a level in single player mode. Note: Luigi will return as the main character after the level or if Nabbit dies.
