You must complete each of the three Agency tests, which will become available in Recursion mode. The test requires fighting a clone of yourself in the layout of your choice. Switch cannot be used and area of effect upgrades, for example, +Load() are not needed since you will only face one opponent. Use a high damage combo such as Void() three times followed by Cull() + Cull() + Void().
Enter the Sandbox Practice Test. You will have five enemies for practice. Use Get() to place them into a cluster, then hit them with a high damage combo in Turn(). For example, use Void() three times followed by Mask() + Mask() to boost damage, then follow up with Cull() + Cull() + Load().
There are sixteen functions. Some are looted from dead bodies and the others are avaialble through leveling.
Explore every area of the map. If you miss any, try again in Recursion mode.
Activate a limiter for at least one encounter, and it will update with some background information. Read this background information for each of the ten limiters.
There are a total of sixteen functions, Each has three pieces of background information that can viewed by having an encounter with that function in each type of slot location (active, upgrade, or passive).
There are ten limiters. To earn the achievement have all of them active at the same time for five encounters. This can be done in Recursion mode without the encounters being consecutive. Attempt this after a Boss fight (for example, the Spine or Grant & Asher) on the easier encounters that follow.
After getting all sixteen functions, you will still continue to gain functions as you level up in Recursion mode. After getting a duplicate function, slot it into a version of itself, for example Tap() + Tap().
Place three of the four MEM functions into one slot, for example, Tap() + Void() + Cull(). Each function requires one to four MEM slots, which are indicated by the number of bars on the side of the function. Have at least three such functions that require four MEM; for example Cull(), Void(), Tap(), and Help(). You must also have one slot that can receive two upgrades, which can be gained through leveling.
Fill all three slots under "Number 1", where you can hotkey 1, 2, 3, and 4 to load functions. Then, drag and move "Number 2" to the left to replace "Number 1". "Number 2" will instantly have all slots accessible, and "Number 1" will not lose any of its loaded functions. Use this to maximize individual function sets easily without leveling your character.
