If you manage to obtain Sumner, complete any level or defeat a Boss with him. You will notice that Sumner will always gain over 200,000 experience, and anywhere from 15,000 to 40,000 in gold (which cannot be used), no matter how many enemies you kill.

Play any level with a weak character. After you complete the level, change your character to Sumner. If done correctly, Sumner will only have the max HP as your previous character. Even though your stats are all at 999, you will notice a physical decrease in all his stats. You will also notice that if your previous character was under level 80 or level 30, Sumner's dragon will downgrade in form.

In the game there are two Deaths, a red one that will steal 100 health and a black one that will steal 1 level. By buying plenty of Anti-Death, you can avoiding losing health and levels. After putting on an Anti-Death halo, Death will avoid you. Instead of just ignoring the Death, run towards him with the Anti-Death still active. When you do this, the powers will be reversed. With red Death, you will gain 100 hundred health from him. With black Death, you can gain an entire level from him.

If used properly, the Archer (and Tigress) can unleash the most powerful turbo attack in the game, the BFG, by using it as follows.

Use the BFG directly next to the enemy. It is important to understand the stages of the Archer's BFG: the draw, the main shot, and the arrow spread. Alone, each one of these stages of the attack are strong, but when all these hit a single target, the amount of damage done is staggering, easily taking out a General, Golem, or Gargoyle with one attack, or a massive chunk of a Boss' health.

Equip an attack-boosting elemental amulet and/or a super-shot. These items increase the power of each arrow fired in the attack significantly, making the BFG even more devastating.

These principles also apply to the Archer's "double bow". Use it up close and with power-ups so that all the boosted arrows hit the target along with the short-range strike from the target contacting the archer during her turbo.

Use levitation to get over traps. You can walk over them when the spikes appear.

Tap Quick Attack (default is A) two to three times, then Strong Attack (default is Y) to do a special one or two hit combination hit after the normal attacks are done. These combos do more damage than regular attack and are useful against mini-Bosses or Bosses who are in short-range distance (the Spider Queen, Lich, etc.).

An easy way to defeat the Bosses is to buy four or five of the following items before the fight: Triple Shot, Rapid Fire, a magical amulet (Acid, Light, Fire, etc.) that the Boss is weak against. Get close and press the button as fast as possible. It is amazing how quickly the Boss' life goes down. This strategy can be used for every Boss in the game and also makes the Spider Queen very easy.

If you have at least 10,000 gold, buy two Invincibilitys, two Rapid Fires, two Super Shots, and two Phoenixes. Use the rest of the money on any of those four to have some extras. Enter the battle and just hold A. You will not get hurt and the Boss will die in a few seconds.

Buy about eight or more Thunder Hammers. Go to any Boss, turn your Thunder Hammer on, and run up to it. Repeatedly hit it with the Thunder Hammer (tap A as quickly as possible). You will rarely get hurt, because when you are swinging the hammer you are invincible. You then will hit your target and swing again immediately after that. Your may need to buy more Thunder Hammers depending on the Boss. You will also get some gold and experience while defeating the Boss. This is also a good way to increase levels.

By lots of Super Shot and do not stop shooting at the Boss. Note: This will not work against the Lich and Spider Queen.

Buy a lot of Thunder Hammers. When you reach the Boss' level, run directly up next to it and repeatedly attack. You will continuously attack without taking a lot of damage. The Boss should die without much of a fight. If you die before you kill it, buy more Hammers. This works much better if you are playing a multi-player game. Have both you and your teammate(s) run up and attack in the same manner. When you both/all have a full turbo meter, use your team attack. This will help kill the Boss faster. The Thunder Hammer trick works well on most of the weaker Bosses. The Boss of the Dream levels is too wise for this trick, and the final Boss is too strong. The Spider Queen will hit you frequently. In order to defeat her easily, start a multi-player game and designate someone as the punching bag. Whoever plays the punching bag should run up to the Queen and stand in front of her, causing her to get distracted by attacking only that person. This will work for awhile, then she will turn and try to get someone else. Make sure that the punching bag is always in her way. Buy a lot of invincible crystals for the punching bag character. Remember, if an item is timed, it will run out twice as fast in a Boss battle. The punching bag can attack the Queen and is recommended, especially since that means more damage faster. Also, do not forget to use your Team Attacks. They will deal a large sum of damage.

As a Jester or Archer, stand far from the Boss and fire repeated shots at it. When it gets ready to fire long range attacks, stop firing and move. It will miss and become vulnerable. Note: This will not work with the Lich or Spider Queen.

This trick requires a lot of money. Go to the shop and buy a lot of Super Shots. Continuously fire at the Boss. The Boss will be attacking you, but you will not lose any health.

Find or buy three or four hammers. Run up to it and press A. If you do not want to spend money, shoot it with your slow attack. Stand far enough away so that it does not get you when it sprays acid, lightning, or fire, Once it sprays acid, lightning, or fire, run in one direction then quickly in another. Its attack will miss you.

Fire a strong attack. The General will block it. Then, fire a turbo attack. Repeat this until they are dead. For a more powerful hit, use the turbo attack when close to them.

To defeat a General or Golem without spending money or using an item, when you run into creates, go behind a wall or barrier of some sort that you can shoot over. Then, use your slow attack multiple times.

Save a lot of treasure (about 3,000 gold). Buy Hammers with it. This will give you a very long lasting Hammer that will almost kill whatever Guardian you fight. It is also difficult for them to hit you while you are attacking with this Hammer. Hammers also work best for beating on anything you cannot take down without taking a lot of damage.
