On the start menu type:

L,R,L,Start-for Purple

While paused, press R, R, L and Start.

Play throughout the game to unlock characters to buy in Freeplay mode:

Chewbacca - Complete Level 2 in Episode III
Darth - Maul Complete Episode I in Story Mode
